Das Aufsichtsratsmandat / Der Aufsichtsrat (Modul III)

The duty of supervisory boards to provide ongoing training is regulated by law for banks and has been included in the German Corporate Governance Code for all other companies for years.

Supervisory boards should therefore (continue to) proactively address the topic of further training, also so that the chairperson of the supervisory board is able to provide information on this at the annual general meeting if shareholders ask questions in this regard or proxy advisors include the topic of further training for supervisory board members (and, if applicable, evidence of this) in their guidelines.

The online workshop "The Supervisory Board Mandate/The Supervisory Board" offered by the Banking Academy, which consists of several modules, ties in here.

It is an advanced training event within the meaning of Section 25d (4) KWG.

In the three modules, you will receive a comprehensive overview of the multi-layered topics of supervisory board activities; existing knowledge will be updated and deepened in the core areas of practical supervisory board work (including bank-specific issues). Practical examples will be used to comprehensively address the current state of the discussion.

The training can be booked in individual modules or as a discounted overall course

Module III (22.05.2024) includes:
Part 4: Liability of the supervisory board
Part 5: Outlook

Further information on Module I (24.04.2024) can be found here.
Further information on Module II (08.05.2024) can be found here.

The online trainings are led by Dr. Jens Thau, M.C.J. (New York University), Attorney at Law, Certified Specialist in Employment Law, Attorney at Law, New York. He is Managing Director of the Employers' Association of the Private Banking Industry (AGV Banken) and has many years of experience as a supervisory board member. He is certified by Deutsche Börse AG as a qualified supervisory board member and as a specialist supervisory board member "Audit Committee".
