Operationelles Risiko
The EU institutions, consisting of the EU Commission, the EU Council and the EU Parliament, are in final negotiations on the EU banking package (based on Basel 3). As a result, there are numerous new requirements, including those relating to the treatment of operational risks.
The workshop will outline the new requirements, focusing on Pillar 1 (hard capital requirements), Pillar 2 (risk management requirements) and Pillar 3 (reporting and disclosure). It will be highlighted that the different business models of banks will be affected in different ways. Even though the application by the banking industry will essentially have to take place from 2025, the contents are already casting their shadows today. Banks should start preparing now to ensure smooth and efficient implementation.
The following questions are the focus:
- Which tasks does a bank already need to have in mind?
- What information/data is needed for implementation?
- How do the regulations affect the bank's business models with a focus on commission business vs. interest business?
The event is aimed at employees in the risk management, accounting, risk controlling departments and employees from strategic business unit planning, among others.
Frank Corleis, OpRisk expert, Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), Frank Mehlhorn, Director Banking Supervision, Association of German Banks (Bundesverband deutscher Banken e. V.) and Christian Saß, Associate Director Banking Supervision, Association of German Banks (Bundesverband deutscher Banken e. V.), will speak.
