An Introduction to the DRV (German Master Agreement)
The webinar - to be held in English – will provide an overview of the documentation for German Master Agreement for Financial Derivatives 2018 (“Deutscher Rahmenvertrag für Finanztermingeschäfte – DRV”) and the German legal framework for netting agreements - specifically for international market participants.
This interactive event will introduce the participants to the structure of the master agreement, its central provisions, and other key elements of the DRV documentation (addenda and supplements) and will also give an overview on current projects to modernize the DRV documentation. Another focus will be on the German insolvency law rules governing netting agreements.
The Webinar will also provide the opportunity to discuss practical questions from the perspective of in-house counsel as well as regulatory and compliance specialists/officers of institutions or other financial market participants involved in the negotiation of netting master agreements.

Dr. Jörg Fried
Dr. Jörg Fried is a lawyer at Linklaters LLP specializing in capital markets law and has more than 20 years of experience. Mr. Marc Voelcker is a lawyer at Linklaters LLP specializing in capital markets law. His practice focuses on OTC derivatives, financial market infrastructure, and securities financing transactions. In addition to transaction advisory services, he specializes in insolvency law and regulatory issues related to these areas.
Dr. Lambert Köhling
Dr. Lambert Koehling is Director in the Legal and Capital Market Teams of the Bankenverband (German Banking Association). For the past 16 years he has been organising the Financial Derivatives Working Group overseeing the development of the German master agreement documentation for financial transactions and the accompanying netting opinion program. Before joining the Bankenverband he was a lawyer specializing in project finance.
