The symposium offers employees in the legal and credit department an overview of the current requirements of legislators, case law and banking supervision for credit and loan collateral law as well as consumer protection law.

Jörg Buschan

Jörg Buschan is a German lawyer and is responsible for credit law and consumer protection at the Association of German Banks.

Torsten Jäger

Torsten Jäger heads the Sustainable Finance team at the Association of German Banks. In this role, he supports various international, European and national sustainable finance initiatives and is in regular contact with the relevant EU institutions and supervisory authorities (EBA, ECB, BaFin and Bundesbank). He has over 20 years’ experience in banking supervisory law and previously worked for the management consultancy zeb/, DZ Bank in London and Berliner Volksbank. 

Dr Rouven Kober

Dr Rouven Kober has been jointly responsible for the consumer credit law division at Commerzbank AG since 2023. Prior to this, he worked for several years at a Frankfurt law firm specialising in banking law. Mr Kober studied and obtained his doctorate in Marburg. He is a qualified bank clerk and has completed the Bankakademie’s further training programmes to become a Bankfachwirt and Bankbetriebswirt. 

Dr Andreas von Oppen

Dr Andreas von Oppen is a German lawyer and is responsible at the Federal Association of German Banks (Bundesverband deutscher Banken e. V.) for matters including insolvency law, credit security law and enforcement law. He is a qualified bank clerk and, following law studies in Germany and England, passed both state examinations in Freiburg and Berlin. He also publishes specialist literature on credit protection law as an author or co-author.

Christian Saß

Christian Saß studied economics and has been employed by the Association of German Banks (Bundesverband deutscher Banken e. V.) since 2017. He specialises in banking regulation and supervision, with a focus on capital requirements. Most recently, he has been working primarily on the EU banking package. 

Anna-Lara Weigert

Anna-Lara Weigert is an in-house lawyer with a Master’s degree in European Business Law, specialising in digital issues, from Bocconi University, Milan. At the Association of German Banks, she is responsible for providing legal support in the areas of crypto and digitalisation, including artificial intelligence.

Judith Wittig

Judith Wittig works as a freelance lawyer. She is a member of the Banking Association’s Working Group on Credit and Credit Security Law and is the author and co-editor of standard works on credit and credit security law.
